Renting a vehicle requires:

A valid, full driving license appropriate for the chosen vehicle category is required, held for the minimum duration stated in the Rental Agreement. You should also present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with payment details and a security deposit. Additional requirements may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Ripon office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and security deposit are generally due upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where relevant. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection in Ripon, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be generated and signed to document the state of the vehicle. Please ensure that the vehicle is returned in the same condition as it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charges will apply as necessary. The vehicle should be returned with the same level of fuel as when collected; refueling fees will be incurred if the fuel level is lower. Insurance and Responsibility

You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless additional insurance is purchased. 7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any dangerous operations. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting to others or allowing unauthorized drivers is not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Ensure that usage aligns with vehicle specifications, including passenger and weight limits. Traveling outside the designated geographical boundaries requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Ripon will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount paid in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
