Ripon Service Agreement

Welcome to Ripon Vehicle Hire Services. These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your use of our website carhireripon.co.uk and our vehicle rental services. By using our services

1. Ripon Rental

All vehicle rentals from Ripon are governed by a detailed Rental Agreement provided with your booking confirmation or at vehicle collection. That agreement sets out the applicable terms, conditions, insurance cover, charges, and your responsibilities for the individual rental. If there's any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take precedence.

2. User Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Ripon, you must:

  • For Ripon hires, be at least 21 years old (age restrictions may vary by vehicle type, with additional charges possible for drivers under 25). Hold a valid, full driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category, held for the minimum period specified in the Ripon Rental Agreement. Provide valid identification, proof of address and a payment method at the time of vehicle collection.

3. Reservation and Payment

  • Bookings are available through our website, by phone, or in person at our Ripon location. A booking deposit may be required to confirm a reservation. Full payment and a security deposit are normally payable when the vehicle is collected. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable.

4. Vehicle Collection and Return for Ripon

  • At Ripon, you must inspect the vehicle at collection and report any existing damage immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by you and a Ripon representative. Return the vehicle in the same condition as when collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage found on return will be assessed and charged to your account.

5. Ripon Insurance and Liability

  • Basic third-party insurance is included with all Ripon rentals. Full coverage details and applicable excess amounts are set out in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to reduce your financial liability. We recommend reviewing these carefully. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the excess amount specified in the agreement.

6. Cancellation and Modifications

Ripon's cancellation and amendment policies differ by booking type and notice period. Refer to your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for details. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in charges.

7. Ripon Prohibitions

You must not use the Ripon vehicle for:

  • Use of a Ripon vehicle for any illegal purpose or activity. Racing, rallying, off-roading, or other hazardous activities. Transport of hazardous or dangerous materials. Sub-letting to third parties or permitting unauthorized drivers. Operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Using the vehicle for purposes it was not intended or constructed for.

Violating these restrictions may result in Ripon rental termination and additional charges.

8. Limitation of Ripon’s Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Ripon will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of business, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant services in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Ripon Law

These Terms for Ripon are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes to Ripon Terms

Ripon may modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on Ripon’s website. Your continued use of Ripon’s services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
